A few recent cards

Here are a couple of cards I made for my son’s Birthday

This one uses an  idea from January’s Craft Stamper magazine. I scribbled using a children’s wax crayon and then brushed over with water based dye ink. To add depth I used 2 stencils and dark green and black ink. I finished with a cycle stamp, some washi tape and some words.

I spend a lot of time looking for stamps  suitable for men and I found this Doc Martin boot stamp by Deep Red from That’s Crafty  and thought it fitted the bill as my son’s been working in the Doc Martis store in Edinburgh. I stamped it onto cream fabric highlighted it with some embroidery thread then layered it onto orange felt, some tartan paper and then onto book keeping paper. A few words plus some background stamping and a brad and it was finished.

IMG_4832I got this  stamp by Paper Artsy for Christmas and wanted to try it out. I covered some patterned paper with metallic Distress Stain, which I used as a background and for  the flowers and butterfly. Quick a quick and easy card.

Have a lovely washi day

Angela's Ink Spot

I have been having a play making faux washi tape using strips of paper with inking, stamping and stencilling. I made some on which I used a ‘chicken wire’ stencil, using wild honey Distress Ink and, as it reminded me of honeycomb, it inspired me to make this card. The background was created by stamping with an embossing folder (another technique I have been meaning to try out for a while). I used a honeycomb folder by Stampin Up and dabbed wild honey DI inside, then pressed the card onto the surface. The lovely day stamp is the freebie with the latest (April) edition of Craft Stamper magazine.
